A few practical questions

A few things worth knowing.

Finding your starting point, understanding the options and knowing what to expect.

Do we need our own improvement team?

No. We work with the staff who know your service, whether improvement is new to them or part of everyday work. We agree responsibilities with your local leads and sponsors.

Do we have to work through every service?

No. Each offer is an entry point. You might need an Idea Review, go straight into Delivery Support, or use an Improvement Reset to refocus work already underway. Choose the support that fits your situation.

We already have an improvement approach. Can we keep it?

Yes. An Improvement System Review helps you understand your existing system and decide where to focus. It is useful in its own right and does not require you to adopt IMPROVE™. For support with a specific improvement, we agree how our approach fits with your methods and governance.

How is the Partnership different from a review?

A review gives you an independent assessment and recommendations about your current approach. The HealthIMPROVE Partnership is for organisations choosing to adopt the complete IMPROVE™ approach, with licensed access, practical resources, implementation support, capability development and ongoing expert input.

What if we are starting improvement from scratch?

If you have a specific idea, we can help you get it moving. If you need to understand the foundations to put in place, an Improvement Healthcheck can help you set priorities. If you want to adopt our complete organisational approach with implementation support, explore the HealthIMPROVE Partnership.

What does a Partnership include?

We agree a package around your size, context and support needs. It brings the model and practical resources together with implementation and ongoing support. The agreement defines the licence, organisational coverage, training and coaching, support time, reviews and fees. Peer-learning opportunities will develop as the HealthIMPROVE network grows.

How is the work priced?

We agree the brief before we quote. For a focused engagement, we provide a proposal setting out deliverables, timescales and the fee. Partnership proposals also define the organisational licence, implementation and ongoing support arrangements. VAT, if applicable, and any agreed travel costs are made clear.

Will you take over the improvement work?

We work alongside your staff, adding expertise and practical support. Your organisation remains involved and retains ownership, local decisions and approvals. We agree responsibilities for delivery, measurement and handover at the start.

Do you need patient information?

We work with anonymised or aggregated information about how your service runs. Please don’t send anything that could identify a patient or person receiving care when you get in touch.

Are outcomes or inspection ratings guaranteed?

No. We are clear about what we will deliver, but outcomes depend on your setting, the evidence and how changes are put into practice. HealthIMPROVE is not a regulator.

Do we have to adopt IMPROVE to work with you?

No. Focused delivery support and Improvement System Reviews are available in their own right. The HealthIMPROVE Partnership is a separate option for organisations that want to adopt our approach.

How do we choose the right support?

Start with the challenge or ambition you have in mind. We’ll discuss your context, what you have already tried and what would make the work useful. You do not need to choose a service before contacting us.

What should we share in our first enquiry?

A brief description of your organisation, what you would like to improve and where you need help is enough. Please leave out patient-identifiable information and confidential case details. We can discuss any information requirements when agreeing the work.

You don’t need to choose
a service before we talk.

Tell us what is happening in your organisation and what you would like to be different. We can work out the right question together.
